Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Weeks Bay Foundation. As an organization with a small staff, we rely on (and are very grateful for) our many volunteers. Please fill out the form below, and indicate which activity(s) interests you. We’ve also included a brief description to help you decide where you best fit.

Special Events: You will see from the list below that we have several events throughout the year. Our volunteers do anything from helping to set up and take down, to selling tickets, serving beverages, or unloading kayaks.

Outdoor Restoration: The properties we protect require monitoring and some require restoration work. This can include the removal of invasive plants, debris and trash, or tree planting and trail construction. This requires hiking in remote wetland areas, using simple hand tools, and a love of the outdoors!

Greeting Visitors: The Weeks Bay Visitors’ Center is free and open to the public 6 days a week. Volunteers greet and talk to guests and answer questions. Being a docent at the Reserve is a great way to meet folks in the community and share your love of the environment. The busiest days are usually Saturdays.

Educational Programs: The Weeks Bay Reserve conducts field trips for K-12 students where they learn about estuaries and coastal ecology. Volunteers are needed to assist the Education Coordinator with large groups.

Groups such as scout troops and civic organizations looking for volunteer activities should call (251) 990-5004.
